“Nostalgia, melodic guitars, dreamy vocals and authentic expressions of searching for happiness in the maze of city streets and relationships.”
“It’s my most personal song, it took me long to be able to sing it. I wrote it in the hardest part of my life when my first long relationship was breaking down and we could no longer keep it, without it destroying us both. This is what it’s about. Loss, self denial, and a long way to reconciliation”, reveals frontman Lukáš Vydra. Coming to terms with all those strong feelings can be felt in each part of the song, that nevertheless also gives hope for when the calm acceptance sets in opening the space for something new to blossom. The song also reflects the change and growth within the band that we interviewed around two years ago. “Thanks to playing shows and practicing hard, we got closer both musically and personally, and that made it possible for us to write songs collectively. ‘Gone’ came into being virtually in a single rehearsal. I had the outline of the song in mind for quite a while, but I felt that it required a special approach to arrangement and production, and that we still needed to mature technically and creatively as band. I first brought ‘Gone’ to the practice room this spring and started playing it, theothers joined in, and in a single magic hour the song was complete in the form we recorded it. At that moment, we knew that it was time to release an album and that this must be its first single.”
The video for the song was made by a long-time friend of the band, Prague-based Slovakian visual artist Kristina Chrastekova and we love the raw feeling of it. So Far So Good will be released digitally and on vinyl.
