Miranda Barnes´s photography is all about youth and truth. “When it comes to my childhood, my parents worked very hard to raise me in the suburbs of Long Island, and for that I am grateful. I was able to grow up with practically no worries, my own room, backyard, and ultimately simplicity, something many kids get robbed of. The bad sides would probably have to be how tiny Long Island can be. Everyone knows everyone and their business, something I try to stay out of. ” she tells us. “It may sound cliche, but I do like capturing an honest expression out of a portrait or anything I take a photo of. I tend to document what’s already there and try to have the photo remain as natural as I possibly can. I hope I can turn my photos into more story-telling/photojournalism styled series, which is something I’ve been challenging myself with for the past couple months.” Make sure to follow her lovely work on instagram aswell.
