“My work revolves around family, friends and my infatuation with females.”
The work of Pasadena, CA based photographer Edward Cushenberry are snapshots of moments that still have a lot to say about the deeper aspects of life. Images which can be viewed longer, because you want to know more. What does the person think, feel or expect? ”It is an extremely personal, intimate, and intrusive documentation of the relationships I have with those who are close to me and in some cases a direct invasion of their privacy.”
When did you start photography?
I’ve always been interested in photography because I use to read National Geographic Magazines when I was younger. However, I didn’t start to take it serious until I was at Art Center College of Design.
What camera/s do you use?
I use a Leica D.R.P. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar that I bought for 20 bucks, a handful of analog point and shoot cameras and recently I began shooting digital on a Canon G10.
Where do you see yourself in a few years
Making a living off my photography and illustrations books and projects.
The most important thing in life is?
There’s this quote by Ralph Ellison and it’s from his novel “Invisible Man” which is one of my favorite books. “And I knew that it was better to live out one’s absurdity than to die for that of others”. So I guess, enjoying yourself is the most important thing in life.
