Transmission Magazine Launch Issue 06

From a block away you could see the party–artists of all creative industries spilled out onto the street.  I squeezed my way to the door and was met by a bouncer.  “What are you here for?”, “Transmission Mag” and in we went–artists were buzzing around and the walls were plastered with large prints of pages from the magazine.  Deep house music penetrated the air as I grabbed an issue of the magazine from the corner and became absorbed into the world of the issue, almost forgetting I was at the event.

Bauxite Summer Collection 2015 – A film by Fabio Petronilli

Hauntingly beautiful nature again, floating clothes with cool patterns and pretty colours and a horse make us fall in love all over again.

When two years ago I watched the video of Bauxite´s summer collection 2013 I fell in love with the label immediately. And with Puglia. So this summer I had the pleasure to explore this beautiful part of Italy for the first time and right at that time when I was reviving my a-little- rusty-Italian, Bauxite released her Summer collection 2015 and a film done by Fabio Petronilli starring beauty Irina Martynenko. Enjoy watching and even learning something about sailing.

Yvonne from Wilhelmina LA and Bleu from MSA Models, MadisonJoseph from Ford Models and Jamie were staged wonderfully by photographer Shayna Colvin for the Australian clothing line Afends.

“This shoot was a lot of fun! It didn’t seem like a fashion shoot at all, more like all of us hanging out and having fun while I occasionally snapped some shots. We spent two nights in the desert. We wandered into town and went vintage shopping and ate at a cafe. We caught a scorpion one night, woke up to watch the sunrise, and drank champagne while listening to old records. Definitely a trip to remember!” It whets our appetite for the label. And Australia.

Lina by Marco Michieletto for C-Heads

Italian photographer Marco Michieletto and model Lina were hiding somewhere in the Italian forest to create this serene and beautiful C-Heads exclusive. Lina´s delicate and natural beauty fits so well within the strength of trees and the stones of an old castle.

“I chose Lina because we have a great understanding and I find her body absolutely perfect and ethereal. The location can not be found easily either;  the ruins of an old castle in the middle of a forest in northern Italy. I thank my friend Luca Cadamuro who always gives me advices on these unique and unobtainable locations.”

Last years Fool’s Gold Day Off had the livest fans, we’re ready for another round

Sweet Memories.
But we are ready for another round in the heart of Brooklyn.

A feat not so easy, how can Fools Gold top last years performance at the “Day Off” festival? Hmm, how about mixing some of the Fools Gold family with performances by Meek Mill, Flatbush Zombies, Post Malone, and a bunch of other high energy artists. Spinning and spitting Labor Day away, “Day Off” 2015 shouldn’t be anything to miss.

Brooklyn, New York. Monday, September 7th.

London and Copenhagen based photographer Simone Steenberg teamed up with angelic model Laerke Simone spending a lovely Sunday into the wild in the palm house and taking pictures on 35mm.

“I like to explore the female body and identity in unconventional and abstract ways, while I also strive to get a more visceral response from the viewer. The body is a key element within my photography and I like to work with it in a more sculptural and textural way. I’m fascinated by movement and different subtle gestures within an image and to capture a moment of ‘in-between’ perhaps state of mind or dream or reality.”

Psychosomatic by Vanessa Matic

Psychosomatic was the insomniac silver hazel pupil.

White orchid moon scattered on the skin of the city.

My misanthropic brood mood, a calm magnet of all

what night is, what it belongs to. Everyone. Everything.

Smoke-chocked words in the air or broken love. The seas

opal gaped mouth singing and swallowing salty tears. No

deaths, just still life that moves silently like wind. The last

tears were taken by the audience; that was all that had

been left anyway. My head on the pure cotton pillow, the

scent of punk rock and grunge in the cigarette tray. The

remainders of yesterday, a song from the dark blue-black

birds on the purpling plum trees outside my french windows.

And you, like a lullaby haunting and then you like a cymbal

possessing what so little love I had left to offer. With your

hair almost on the tips of my fingers. Your eyelids, chin, and

ugly nose. All which made you the perfect dream to me. By

the ugly scar beside your eye that you said was a wrinkle and

that time lied. My hand inside the ice bucket of the clouds

beneath your heart. Under the pink rose of the heat I devoured

the ice of your solitary fixation; that was the high in me when I

could no longer cry or sleep. I’m not going to crack time won’t

linger; just no looking back.

”There’s no edge unless you have gone over,

and if you have..Well then I don’t think you can

come back. And if you do say hello and let me

know how that went.” -Vanessa Matic

“We are always in love with what we are doing” A talk with ABBY about their new album HEXAGON

“Music helps us a lot to deal with anything that we lived through and that we will live though in the future.”

video directed by Sander Houtkruijer in Seoul

It almost happened that I overlooked this wonderful musical pearl ABBY, amongst all the mails that I received that day and only a few days later I saw that by mistake I hadn´t listened to this album teaser Hexagon that landed in my inbox.  But luckily I realized and catched up on it. And when the first tender sounds of the first track Hush started, my world stopped. In a good way. I was totally captured by it. And addicted immediately. I could go on forever about each of the great and diverse tracks on it ( one is even feat. the great Pan-Pot!) and why Hexagon is one of my favourite albums of this year so far, but I wouldn´t know where to start and much less when to stop. And I don´t want to bore you with words, when Abby managed to say everything already so beautifully with their music. A sound so full of emotions, Berlin vibe and the journey of four really good friends. We spoke with singer Filou about the very personal topics that are being dealt with on this album, about being in love and what they meant by saying: “We tried to eat up Berlin. But no chance.”

Hey dear Filou, I am listening to your new album Hexagon. I truly love it! And it evokes a whole palette of emotions within me. You said it´s an album about love, death, suicide, war and peace, friendships and family. Intense topics. Is music a catalyst for all your emotions?

Hey Sigi, music definitely is something like a catalyst for our emotions and it also helps us a lot to deal with anything that we lived through and that we will live though in the future. Music is something we work with nearly every day. I think none of us could be happy without it.

Love is always a good theme for songs. Are you currently in love?

In general I would say we are always in love with what we are doing even though it sometimes demands a lot from us. We are all dedicated to music and I think you don’t need to be in love to write a great love song. But I can speak for myself that I am in love and I can also say that it’s inspiring.

teaser

“When we first came here we were overwhelmed by the possibilities. We wanted to try out everything but we soon realized that it’s simply not doable. We are still sometimes on it but we all no we have no chance against Berlin. So try to deal with it in a respectful way.”

And if I may ask, did you include the term suicide as it was an issue that you had to deal with in your personal surrounding?

Yes of course you may ask. I had to deal with a case of suicide amongst my very old friends. He suffered from a severe depression. Actually the moment everyone thought everything is gonna be fine he took his life. This was a very sad time in my life and I still don’t fully get what really happened to him. He made a decision for himself and the only thing you can do is just simply trying to accept it.

Hexagon is the most stable form that exists in nature. Why did you chose that name? Because you are also at this point in your life where you feel stable within yourselves… a sort of feeling of having arrived?

In a way I guess we feel individually stable within ourselves but this is something that can change. I don’t think that anyone of us feels like he has arrived and I doubt that anyone of us is searching for this particular feeling. Hexagon is a symbol for our friendship which has always been stable and consistent. It’s a frame to something that will always stay but within this frame (friendship) everything is possible and free. Good friendship gives you freedom.

“Most personal song or favorite track on the album? It´s very hard to point out just one track. I think all the tracks together make the journey.”

Who did the artwork?

It’s a Berlin based company called “Eikes grafischer Hort”. The illustrations were drawn by Merlin Fluegel. Great company and a great artist.

Most personal song or favorite song in general on the album?

All our songs are personal. So there is no more or less personal. But HALO for example is one of the tracks we have created at the beginning of HEXAGON. It was the first song we finished and it gave the whole album direction and a vibe. We think it’s a very special song and we are still surprised by it whenever we listen to it or play it live. But it’s very hard to point out just one track. I think all the tracks together make the journey.

What is the song that contains the lyrics that are the most near and dear to your heart or that you simple think are the best ones you have written so far?

This is a hard one. I am really happy about the lyrics of HUSH. It’s the first time I dealt with a topic that follows me throughout my life in a way that I am hundred percent behind it. I lost my father 16 years ago and despite the fact that this was the worst time of my life I grew strength out of it and I am thankful to still have such a great family and such good friends.

Berlin influenced a lot your music. Amongst other things it sounds more electro now. What would your music sound like now if you would have stayed in the place where you are originally from?

I don’t know how to answer this properly cause no one knows. But I guess we would still try to push ourselves to create something unique. I also think that it wouldn’t be very far from what we actually did on HEXAGON referring to the vibe. Berlin definitely means a lot to us. We all feel free here and we made a lot of good and very talented friends. But still I think you have to create something out of yourselves. A place like Berlin just gives a group like us the perfect environment.

“Berlin gives you the possibility to listen and dance to electronic music every night of the week. You can easily get lost here. This is something very inspiring. Dark and very enjoyable at the same time.”

You said for your new songs you took your 70´s heart (musical influences from the 70s psychedelic sounds) and the feeling of being in a club which is very Berlin influenced because partying here is so unique. What is the thing exactly that inspired you about Berlin´s nightlife for your music? I know that going out here can be an amazing experience but I have also seen this other side of the reality that comes with a lot of craziness, drugs and people losing themselves, which of course can also be inspiring for writing…

As you say there is a scene that involves drugs as a common thing. This is also a part of Berlin and the way people celebrate here and of course there is always a down side to it. Berlin gives you the possibility to listen and dance to electronic music every night of the week. You can easily get lost here. This is something very inspiring. Dark and very enjoyable at the same time. But Berlin offers in general a lot of art and music not just electronic music.

Best place to go out over here at the moment?

Berghain is still a crazy place in Berlin but we also like Watergate a lot. It depends on what you’re looking for.

How will you celebrate your album release?

We will have a party with all our friends and there will be music ;)

“Good friendship gives you freedom.”

In the beginning of your promo video you say: “We tried to eat up Berlin. But no chance.” What do you mean by that?

When we first came here we were overwhelmed by the possibilities. We wanted to try out everything but we soon realized that it’s simply not doable. We are still sometimes on it but we all no we have no chance against Berlin. So try to deal with it in a respectful way.

What do you think nowadays youth and current society mood will be mostly remembered for?

I have the feeling it depends very much on where you are living. I guess for some it’s war and racism for others it’s fashion, beauty and party.

Do you have any life ethics that you live by?

I certainly do believe in Karma.

The 21st century girl doesn’t pertain to any stereotype. She’s a chick of many talents, one moment she’s in Europe, the next she’s in Asia. She’s working on several artistic projects at once and killing at every single one. She’s a mix of races – picking up different cultures as she travels. She’s the mysterious girl at the party you want to know her life story who everyone has their eyes on. Here we have sat down and chatted for you.

Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty is a 5′ 10″, 1/2 Chinese, 1/4 Spanish, and 1/4 Mexican model/blogger currently based in NYC, originally from Los Angeles. Modeling since the age of 15, Natalie Suarez has been a notable figure in the fashion industry for years.  She has modeled for Free People, Joe’s Jeans, Volcom, and Mango, to name a few.  With her passion for photography, creative direction, design, music, writing, modeling, and style, Natalie started a blog in 2009 named NATALIE OFF DUTY – inspired by the “model off duty” on-the-go lifestyle. In her blog she shares her stories, inspirations, and projects through her own photography and writing. She has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar UK, editorials in ELLE, and WWD for her “Good Taste.” Natalie has had campaigns and ambassadorships to top fashion and beauty brands from around the world -COACH, DKNY, L’oreal Paris, Saks 5th Avenue, Sunglass Hut, Levis, Nordstrom, etc. Her eclectic, unique style and aesthetic has launched many successful design collaborations sold in top retailers around the world. Next to fashion, Natalie’s other passion is music. Singing along with piano/guitar continue to pop up in her upcoming fashion campaigns.

What goals do you have for your music career? What music work have you done recently?
Music for me is more of a passion project. I love to sing, and I love to write songs. My main goal is to make an album in the next few years. Just something I’m truly proud of. I’ve been experimenting a lot lately, and have begun some collaborations. We shall see what the future holds!

In previous interviews we learnt that Indian food is your favourite cuisine–what is your favourite indian dish?
I love Chicken Saag and basmati rice with roti. I don’t eat Indian so often, but when I crave it, I crave it bad!

What about Bob Dylan’s music inspires you?
It’s his way of story telling that inspires me. It’s so honest, raw, and authentic. And he gets straight to the point with his music. I love it.

We love your Bonnaroo video–where do you see your blog going and do you want to get more into short videos?
Thank you! Yes, I’ve loved making videos. I was just in Nicaragua, and Go-Pro’d our entire adventure. I can’t wait to sit on the computer and start editing. I definitely want to grow my Youtube page. It’s now only filled with my song covers as my 16 year old self, singing in my mother’s bedroom back home in LA. Time for a serious update.

What camera do you shoot with for your blog and how do you edit your pictures?
I shoot with a Canon 6D, and a 50mm lens. I also have a wide-angle lens, but I like to stick with the basics. Especially when I’m traveling. Go-Pro is another toy I’ve been playing with. Importing those images and videos onto my phone. I edit everything with VSCOCam. It’s kind of an addiction. I love to edit images, and make them come to life.

What do you love about documenting music festivals?
Well, I just love music. And I love discovering new music. I’m normally at the smaller stages. Where the shows are more intimate, and the artists are more up and coming. I get inspired by the new stuff you don’t hear on the radio.

Natalie Suarez x Lauren Engel x C-Heads (4)

“My sister Dylana is my other half.
We do just about everything together. It’s amazing having someone that fully understands you.”

What is your dream place to travel to in the future?
India. The colors would be magnificent to capture. And I love spicy food, so that in all would be heaven for me. And I like being a bit gritty when I travel. India seems to have the beauty and craziness that gets me excited.

And what is your favourite place internationally to visit?
Italy. I just went for the first time for 2 weeks this summer and it was incredible. It has delicious food, wine, and stunning blue-green beaches. So romantic. We rented a little Fiat 500 and drove from Venice to Tuscany to Porto Santo Stefano to Amalfi to Naples and ended in Rome. I’m dying to go back.

How long have you had bangs as a hair style? Would you say it describes your personality and that you are known for that look?
I’ve had bangs my entire life. It’s just a part of me I guess. I do love 70′s style, so I guess my childhood haircut just grew into my adulthood. It suits my face, and actually goes well with the clothes I wear. I never used to think much about my hair. Only recently have I started playing with a lighter shade, never thinking of a different cut.

What projects are you currently working on?
Summer for me seems like the busiest time of year. As an ambassador to handful of brands, I’m constantly shooting. It could be for a modeling campaign, or something completely for NATALIE OFF DUTY. With that comes a ton of traveling. Right now, I’m working closely with L’oreal as an ambassador for their new mascara, Reef as their model and brand ambassador (I’m currently working on writing a song for their upcoming Fall campaign video), and I just started my web series with Latina company, Vivla, where I interview people in NYC that inspire me and share my story and top NYC spots…like my top favorite designers, my model friends, and what I’m working on in music. Right now, I just got back from Nicaragua, I’m gearing up for NYFW and possibly Paris Fashion Week, and headed to Atlanta this weekend to host an event. My work is a mixture of everything. The blog world definitely throws a lot of interesting opportunities my way, and I try to just stick with what I’m passionate about, and what suits me.

Do your sister and you still blog together?
Yes we do! Dylana is my other half. We do just about everything together. We travel together, shoot together, and do all of our creative projects together. When we’re not working on the same project, we always give each other advice and help one another. It’s amazing having someone that fully understands you.

Meet me at Hard Summer 2015

Pleasing visuals of Marshall and Lodi canyon take shape in the distance as we approached the Fairplex in Pomona, California for HARD Summer 2015.

Pictures and words by Liam Simmons

This highly anticipated 2 day festival only comes around once a year. I had attended HARD Summer 2014 – so I knew I was in for a hell of a weekend. With a killer selection of electronic music artists headlining, such as: The Chemical Brothers, Jack U, The Weeknd & more; the guys at HARD fest had set the bar high for local competitors. The sun bares down heavy on the eager HARD goers, who had stripped down to bare basics to cope with the unforgiving heat. Day one, and Inside the Fairplex was a hive of activity; seeing over 65,000 people pass through. The layout was much easier to navigate this year, with set pathways, and the Pink, Purple + 7UP stages housed inside buildings w/ air conditioning to prevent heat exhaustion. The Purple stage hosted an incredible lineup over the weekend, with acts such as: Lido, Rae Sremmurd, Anna Lunoe, Mr. Carmack, Fetty Wap, and guest appearances backstage from Jenn Im (of Clothes encounters) & more. Day 2 saw a handful of hopeful gatecrashers hopping the fence and stomaching the 12ft drop into the festival. Only to be tackled moments later by the highly vigilant security. The main stage productions were second to none. The South African Zef poster children Die Antwoord left the HARDER stage in awe following their performance on the second day, with guest appearances backstage from Jack Black, Katy Perry, Tony Hawk and more. I left the festival on a high note, with big expectations for HARD Day of the Dead.

Meet me at Electric Zoo

Rave Babies, Zoo Animals, and EDM styles mixed all together.

Pictures and words by Mike Greene

Electric Zoo Transformed, where the outfits were sometimes louder than the music, brought together an eclectic mix of attendees, dance music, and art. Aside from the smell of garbage, and the over priced pizza (which was well worth it) this years festival was one for the books with performances by Above & Beyond, Adventure Club, Alesso, and a myriad of other well known, and not so well known artists.

Charelle by Sela Holkeson for C-Heads

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring”.

Behind every shoot there’s a concept, and Amsterdam based photographer Sela Holkeson never takes a photo just to show the clothes. At the first place his work must tell a photographic story, where the clothes are just processed in the shoot. Sela says: “I shoot on film. I love it. I feel it. I eat with my eyes. I love to work on strange and special locations. Femininity is one of the main things in my shoots. It must be sexy, but not that obvious. There must me something kept for the imagination.” Wonderful. Enjoy his new stunning C-Heads Exclusive called “lovenest” starring breathtaking beauty Charelle of Wilhelminamodels L.A. “I called this shoot “lovenest” because of that 70ties text on the cork wall. I loved to play with all variations of styles and looks of Charelle. The pictures always made by the model and the photographer, not by the camera itself.” Hair done by Tommyhagen, make-up / hair by Erika Nuijten (both Angeliquehoornagency) and styling by Mr Vintage and Sela.

Mimi was in the middle of a breakup when she contacted me & wanted to shoot in her Altamonte Springs apartment. It seemed to tell its own story that the place hadn’t been tidied when I showed up for the first time and I thought it would be nice to incorporate that into the shoot. Even with the weed the usual conversation and banter didn’t seem to completely diminish the underlying sense of melancholy she had about her; in fact it was so subtle that I didn’t really notice how much it actually showed until the images were complete. Albeit without mentioning that to the viewer I think it would appear more like a sense of longing.

Anyway, after a couple hours or so at her home, near dusk, she drove me to a field near her complex with an abandoned clubhouse surrounded by evergreen trees and tall grass. We talked there and continued shooting until the sun had set, and as the temperature dropped she covered herself in a blanket she’d had in her car. It was those last few shots of her there, wrapped up in that blanket, where I got the most evocative portraits of her–vulnerable, mournful, yearning–true beauty.

Berit by Benjamin Askinas for C-Heads

“As summer ends as a season, Los Angeles still holds on tight. Or maybe it is an overview and a good-bye to another summer past.”

“The images feature some of the newest pieces by Los Angeles swimwear brands such as Sahara Ray Swim, Lezard, and Cami & Jax.  Even featuring these fantastic pool inflatables by the new company called Funboy. Anyway, we had a blast shooting this in a friends pool that looks over a cliff in the Hollywood Hills. Stunning model Berit with Wilhelmina LA kills it in this.” tells us photographer Benjamin Askinas (who also contributed to our  “Summer. Lovers and Strangers” Issue) about this amazing, exclusive C-Heads story, that was styled by Simona Sabo. And oh yes, Berit absolutely kills it and we never tire of looking at those fantastic images. Photo Assistant was Douglas Porter. Make-up was done by Meghan Nguy.

Modern Woman: Audrey Kitching

Photography and Interview by Lauren Engel

The 21st century girl doesn’t pertain to any stereotype. She’s a chick of many talents, one moment she’s in Europe, the next she’s in Asia. She’s working on several artistic projects at once and killing at every single one. She’s a mix of races – picking up different cultures as she travels. She’s the mysterious girl at the party you want to know her life story who everyone has their eyes on. Here we have sat down and chatted for you.

Audrey Kitching grew up in Philadelphia, but moved to Los Angeles when she was twenty years old with just $1,000 in her wallet and two suitcases. She knew she wanted to work in the fashion industry, in some form or another. She started blogging on sites like Xanga and MySpace, doing style editing and blogging for Buzznet, which sent her cover and represent the company at red carpet events in Hollywood. She didnt feel like she fit in but people started to take notice of her colorful, crazy style. At the time she didn’t have money so she would buy cheap clothes at thrift shops and go to craft stores and create my own outfits inspired by the runway looks.”

That’s not to say the attention was always comfortable, though, the blogger-model-designer admits. Since then she has become internet famous as a fashion designer, blogger (her Buzznet blog receives 3 million page views monthly) and model. Kitching has been declared simultaneously a “fashion forward female” and “fashion disaster” by Cosmopolitan, an “It Kid” and “princess of pop culture” by Nylon, and “social media queen” by Greek magazine Soul. She has created two clothing lines: Audrey Kitching Los Angeles (formerly Tokyolux) and Coco de Coeur and in 2013 started working on her Crystal Cactus line a line of new age crystal pendant jewelry, holistic spa treatments, and gifts.  Audrey was featured in the Diesel Twitter Campaign in 2015,  Vogue Italia, Elle Magazine, Vera Wang collection and MTV Canada to name a few.

Why is a white tiger with wings your spirit animal?
I love that you know this! I’m not even sure I ever mentioned it before publicly. I’m not sure to be completely honest. I trained with shamans early on and it was this mystical creature that always came to me in vision quests. I was the only one whose spirit animal wasn’t earth-bound, which explains a lot. His name is Giles, or I assume that’s what it would translate to in the English language.

Where do you see Crystal Cactus in 5 years?
What we are now but on a much broader scale. We just went through a big phoenix rebirth phase and are rebuilding from the ground up. The company grew so fast and I didn’t really have proper business training to handle that; I was traveling all over the world and there was a lot of money just being thrown around, and I wasn’t really “present.” I made the decision to stop taking traveling jobs for a few months, hired some new staff, and we have been restructuring and upgrading in all aspects. Now we are currently filling orders for Urban Outfitters and the Nylon Shop, as well as working on our higher-end, luxury collection due out later this year. I am very excited about how I envision the store going and will not stop until it reaches that special place.

Do you have other upcoming personal projects you plan to work on?
I have so many going on that I had to make a three year plan to space them out. The last one I recently added on was a cat painting gallery exhibit. I will just leave it at that.

Was it difficult moving social presence from e.g. myspace to the next social media channel as myspace became less and less used?
I would like to say yes, but at the time I was really just a kid running away from myself and trying to figure out where I was going to sleep the next night. I really had no grasp of reality back then, a career was the last thing on my mind. I would get dressed in a Waffle House bathroom after sleeping in a car and then be chased down by girls wanting to take photos with me later that afternoon. It was all a very strange and confusing time… I think it all panned out the way it was supposed to as everything in life does. The only thing that is constant is change. As long as you can be comfortable with that you can flow into whatever is next effortlessly.

If you had $10,000 to spend on clothes, what would you spend it on?
I would raid Opening Ceremony and Saks Fifth Ave and try to stretch it as far as possible. Then naturally save some to hit up thrift stores and take my finds to get custom fitted. I’m a sucker for one-of-a-kind, unique anything. I like to mix designer runway with cheap and forgotten. I cherish the palace and the ruins.

“Don’t become a doll for the public, and just be yourself. The people who are one hit wonders and who fade out as fast as they came in are people who are trying to put on a show, trying to prove something.”

Does it frighten you that with social media you can be relevant one day and not the next?
I don’t ever really think about that at all, which is strange because most people in my situation would. I have had an online presence for over 10 years and I would be doing what I am today as far as energetic work, design, and art with or without a strong following. I would still get dressed as I do today, even if no one ever looked at me again. I think the key to having a real relevance in anything is to not feed into all the trends. Don’t become a doll for the public, and just be yourself. The people who are one hit wonders and who fade out as fast as they came in are people who are trying to put on a show, trying to prove something. It always backfires. I’m just being myself but publicly. Other people on similar journeys will gravitate towards what I’m doing and stick around because it’s relatable in a truth serum way.

What would you say is your biggest achievement to date?
Having people use my images to catfish online.

Do you think the type of fans you have changed over time?
Totally and not at all. I have so many people who have been following me since I was an angry teenager getting kicked out of high-school… which still blows my mind. It’s also safe to say a lot of my followers have also fallen off. There is a huge part of the human race who just does not accept change and evolution. You can not speak to me and treat me as the same Audrey I was 10 years ago and expect it to go anywhere. On the uphill of that statement I also feel a lot of new people find me everyday and are drawn to me for reasons they don’t really understand yet. I would rather have 10,000 people who understand me and want to be a part of what I’m creating than 100,000 who want to judge and pick me apart when I don’t match their idea of who they think I should be.
