Today, we celebrate another debut. Toronto based photographer Jeffrey Chan teamed up with Ford Model McKenna Berkley to capture all her strong beauty on a secluded beach in Malibu. While it´s getting colder and colder in Toronto they went off to SoCal. “LA is one my favourite places to visit and shoot. So many beautiful locations and always gorgeous weather. I was inspired by McKenna’s free spirit and I love the changing light in a given day, which sets up for a great sunset shoot, especially on the west coast.” Makeup and hair done by Linda Michelle Bartunek

“Do your best to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Try to see things in different perspectives.”

A different sound can be heard by the Californian duo The Garden Twins, that will release their upcoming single Surprise on the 8th of December via the London based label Luv Luv Luv records. Founded in 2011 by the twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears, The Garden Twins take some of their inspiration from a background in punk classicism and their sound immediately catches you, not least because when the first sounds appear your ears feel like they need to get used to catching the arrangments of the tunes, but once you are there, you are addicted. They will play 3 UK shows in December and will furthermore support Warpaint on their tour next March. And we had a little chat with them…

How do trends influence your productions?
Trends come and go. I like to take my influence from things that are concrete. Like the sidewalk!

Your music feels so strange and raw. Is this something which can also describe your personality?
I don’t see those traits within myself, but they could be seen from another persons perspective. You never know.

What it’s like being a twin? And what is the best thing about it?
Comfortability.

“Surprise” will be out on 8th December. What fact about you would surprise people?
I have a few pairs of shoes. And a few pairs of socks.

What do you enjoy doing apart of music?
I enjoy playing hockey and riding my bicycle.

Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Somewhere with the Vada clan.

Your best life lesson so far?
Do your best to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Try to see things in different perspectives.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
Hopefully doing something meaningful with my life.

The most important thing in life?
I think that it’s different for everyone. For me, it’s simply being happy and having something to look forward to every week.

Any last words?
I have a long way to go and a lot more to create.

“Im actually a filmmaker as well as a photographer and I really wanted to find a way to incorporate the two together. I wanted to come up with something where each photo felt like its own kind of story but at the same time the photos as a whole still had a togetherness.”

Los Angeles based photographer Collin Levin takes us on an unusal and fantastic journey with those exclusive for C-Heads images. “I have never met anyone like you… – Yeah I get that a lot.” is written underneath one image where gorgeous Model Chelsea Schuchman at Photogenics LA seems to be absorbed within her thoughts. The combination of a still visual and those dialogue sentences are adding another dimension and a really strong dynamic to this story, that already scores with its sheer eye-minded elegancy. Rad styling is done by Annabelle Harron and Hair/MU is done by Laura Peyer.

“After my editorial shootings or when beautiful girls were visiting me I shot them on the balcony as well and that’s how this story was build, roughly. It was the last days of summer. I wanted to capture this moment with different girls on different days to get various emotions, spontaneously. No stylist or make-up artist”

It´s just all about the girls, flowers, camera and fun. Repeat, Telegraph und Musique Risquée. Rainer, aus dem sonnigen Barcelona und einer Platten Selektion die ihres gleichen sucht. Und natürlich die 2 Pompadour Residents der ersten Stunde, Thomas Grün und Philipp Blecha die den Pompadour-Sound über die letzten 6 Jahre maßgeblich mitprägten. Weil wir Abwechslung so schätzen, bespielen David Jerina und Pierre Ciseaux vom Viennas First 2000s Club den alten Floor der Auslage. We know that the beach days are long over, – well at least for us in Vienna and Berlin, but nevertheless we are always eager to keep those fond memories alive. Photographer Frankie Mark has headed down to the seaside with model Meki Saldana at NEXT Models NYC and Charo at FORD Models NYC and shot this exclusive gorgeous C-Heads story, with the help of stylist ChelseaFreeborn. The swimwear was provided by the label Swimwear Ola Vida Swimwear. We love the shells-all-over-the body thing and we have just discovered the cutest smile.

Iconic Japanese designer NIGO collaborated with adidas Originals to drop a new collection which is now available select retailers worldwide. The lookbook featuring NYC hip-hop crew Ratking photographed by Ari Marcopoulos.

“Part of what I associate with adidas Originals is the image of NY rap groups wearing the sneakers in the ’80s and early ’90s, so that image was in my mind when I was designing the range. But I wanted to see the next generation wearing the collection. Ratking are really genuine and I’m a fan of their music.”

“To me, a woman is beautiful when she is intelligent, bold, fearless and unashamed. I like somebody who can be out of their comfort zone and come to own it.”

LA based photographer Damon Loble got a job at a camera store when he was 18. The Beginning of a Love Story. His work is not about creating a reality that is not there, but rather about showing how the person really is. And that is already almost more beauty that one can handle. Patience is one of the things he is a great believer in; opportunities will arise once you stay focused on what you want, and combined with a great sense of passion for everything he is doing in life, he brings the certain something to his stunning photographs.

Where does your love for photography come from?
My love for photography comes from the love of light, the way it is recorded as it shapes our interaction with every aspect of life. It’s incredibly satisfying to be able to create a moment with a camera that you wouldn’t necessarily have realized was there if you were simply observing. Anyone using a camera is making extremely complicated choices in how they interpret that particular segment of time.

In an interview you said “I’m a good digital tech, but when it comes to getting paid for photography, there’s a strange disconnect that happens.” What have you learned and what changes have you made meanwhile?
I think that it’s still the same situation. I use what I am good at to pay for what I want to become better at doing in the future. The only thing that’s really changed for me is that I am slowly becoming more willing to bring in people to help make the images better than I can do by myself.

What makes a good photographer? And do you think that being good is enough to be successfull as well?
I don’t know that there’s really any one way to say what makes a good photographer. I think that to be good you have to have passion and drive and consistency and evolution. If you feel something, any kind of emotion when you look at another individual’s work… whether it is happiness, sadness or jealously, then that individual is successful with that picture. There are just too many amazing people shooting to be able to define what exactly a good photographer is. But I do think there is a difference to being a good photographer and a successful one.

Lots of your work is very erotic. When is a woman beautiful in your eyes?
To me, a woman is beautiful when she is intelligent, bold, fearless and unashamed. I like somebody who can be out of their comfort zone and come to own it.

And where do you draw the line when it comes to nude images?
I draw the line on nude images at the point where my subject needs to draw that line. My personal style is less about creating a stylized situation that pretends to be more fun than real life, rather I prefer to show someone who is ok being seen as he or she is photographed.

Your best life lesson so far?
My best life lesson has been patience in situations. It’s taken me longer to reach the same places others have in far shorter timespans. I’m a firm believer that if you remain focused on what you specifically want, eventually you will have an opportunity to get it… of course I’ve also blown a lot of those opportunities as well.

What besides photography draws your interest?
This is silly, but I am passionate about SCUBA.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now? What do you want to achieve in life?
I see myself enjoying the work I do. I feel very fortunate to be in the situation I’m in, and I think that it is going to continue moving forward. Ultimately, I’ll have a villa on a Mediterranean island, enjoying the rising sea levels.

The most important thing in life?
The most important thing in life is continuing to have a passion for everything in your life. I believe it’s what drives a person to continue exploring and learning.

2015 is comning! Did you make a New Year’s resolution already?
I have made my New Year Resolutions already, and I’ve already decided to break them.

Win Some, Lose Some

It’s high time for fun! LA based photographer David Lekach teamed up with the models Rachel Russel, Dallas Haupt, Hannah Novak, Fabienne and David Bonderer at Next LA for this C-Heads Exclusive where it´s all about dancing, laughing and having fun together. “My friends live in a warehouse in East Hollywood and they share a place which is filled with all sorts of rad stuff, arcade machines, musical instruments and hammocks.” The illustrations are done by Michelle Cordy and a special thanks to HOTT MT.

Summer Forever.

Just yesterday I was talking with our music editor about her discovered passion for 70s music, classic guitar riffs and a sound that will never grow out of fashion. Same applies to the style of that time and photographer wiissa takes us on a little travel and hits rewind to a time “when sun kissed Swedes tanned on Pierre Cardin beach towels and lounged in Twiggy designed jumpsuits. Vacationers made sure to capture their LA holiday all on Super 8 film and spend their days sun bathing in the sand.” Model Eddie Pettersson embodies her role in a very convincing way and responsible for the cool style is Chloe Chippendale with Stoned Immaculate Vintage. Without getting too much into details – the spirit of this age was all about things such as woman´s right, trying to deal with environmental problems, embracing freedom, the computers for the masses appeared. The fashion was loud and colourful. Great music appears and in England the punk and new age movement emerged. Doesn´t seem like times are changing so much, right?
