Volleyballgirls by George Stratigis

“Keep audience attention high.. along with the fair play”

“It was Saturday night – travelling to Athens, when I noticed a female team on board. Since that moment I knew I wanted to meet these girls again. When the boat arrived to Piraeus port early morning, stepping out I had the chance to ask one of the girls about their mission. It was the first time I decided to shoot a Volleyball game and I couldnt resist to this idea. Few hours later I was at the match, observing the girls hunting the ball and me also trying to catch some action with a telephoto lens. Dynamic, elegant & fit; after all those beautyful girls had a mission.”

You can feel so well the team spirit, strength and energy that such a sport event creates in the space and we almost feel like getting up and cheering to them while observing the images of photographer George Stratigis.

Bewitching by Vanessa Matic

Bewitching

Millions watching and bewitching me, but in my bed big enough for two.
I dreamed you bewitched me to haunt loves eternity. Captive in my own
introspective kiss, I should have loved another instead of fading bliss. It
could have been anyone now, for I’ve forgotten your face and forgotten
your taste. A ghost feeble longing gaiety in me derived in silence questioning
me. With all the silence roaming free, it was the very quiet to which I could not
sleep. And I was infatuated and infuriated by your very existence it elevated
every passionate pointless sensation physically possible. Yet I cannot give my
dreams to you, you have too many times crumbled them in my sleep. The
empty sky will tell me nothing as I pray it will look down on me. If it had eyes
to see well maybe the rain would be its tears. It is terrible solitude that life is,
as two can touch each others and feel a lesser loneliness. I wonder often what
you feel from a longing like the sea in me, it does not fancy me to keep up with
the party. My dear my desire is yet to consume me, to talk to everyone intensely,
to travel the world vividly, letting the colors feed me to feel, to walk so freely with
no fear of the night . As when I was a child just learning to live. I want to learn to
live again. It is also not that I wish to be here forever, forever seems so sad after
all. Yet now I crave you as numb it is in this heart of mine, to lean on you to tell you
I’m here. There’s still so much, too much to learn and if you turn I don’t believe
you’d ever return or if I would want you to. But to shut my eyes all stands still, the
whole world is dead to me, yet you still live.

We have a giveaway for you from London based streetwear label BÄAS

$
0
0

Today we spotlight the London based streetwear label BÄAS which focuses on producing innovative, quality products that show off exceptional ability to merge design and artistic expression. Founded in 2013 the design philosophy is all about connecting traditional cultural patterns with frequently evolving innovative urban fashion.

“In the early days of the label, before we had even considered properly printing products, we were creating tees using just stencils and spray paint as a way of creatively saving money. The main themes of these stencils were basic logos and pictures of influential figures, such as The Fresh Prince”. says brand founder Dan Gaffney. “We wanted to pick a totally unrecognisable name and having spent the first years of my life in Holland decided on BAAS, a direct translation of the English word boss. As the design process progressed and we started to toy with the idea of professionally printing our own tees, our ideas began to encompass wider cultural influences. We decided to build on the name BAAS and add the umlaut above the A, adding a unique identity to the word and creating the brand. One of the other key elements of the brand is our strong relationship with the growing house music scene.”

We raffle 1 tee and 1 hat. (female – size M) All you need to do is to write us a short mail to contact @ c-heads.com and let us know on which occasion you are going to wear both things for the first time in case you win. Good luck!

If you wake up and don’t have a imprint of your sheets on your soft pink skin did you sleep hard enough?

Your dream was preceding the moment you rubbed your eyes as you first woke up and each moment is more magical than the next. When you wake up and are suddenly not afraid of falling in love but you are afraid of which lipstick will match your new skirt. You read for fun and you grow up too fast because there will never be enough gin and tonics to go around. Last night I slept with the same shirt I was wearing when I kissed you because if I don’t romanticize everything did it actually ever happen? There is no attractive way to eat pizza but if you flick your tongue a certain way when you are reaching for the string of cheese it might make me want to kiss you. We put the pure on a pedestal and love our reflection. But ultimately love the reflection of ourselves in another’s touch.

“Sun light is the best present we could ever be given, because it means that we’re alive. But we don’t care, because we see it everyday.”

It should be noted that this does not apply to Vienna of course. The most grey city in the world I guess. Anyway. Give a warm welcome to Barcelona based Enzo David Pla Iriarte for his first C-Heads Exclusive Series. A very soft and sensual story starring Laura Casadevall, which focuses on the calm and balanced moments at home.

Meredith drops a clip for Jumpin Beds

Brisbane based musician Meredith effortlessly fuses lo-fi indie production with heartfelt and warm folk-infused lyricism.

Her new track “Jumpin Beds” is a lovely example of this, evident in the music video featured below. The clip was shot in Brisbane’s urban centre, creating a portrait of isolation that is reflective, says Meredith, of the life she was living when the song was written. “The inspiration from the clip came from the story in the lyrics, depicting a transitioning stage in my life where I was constantly packing up a bag and heading to different homes. I didn’t have my own house and nowhere really felt like home – it seemed like I was living in a constant state of change.”

“We took a documentary style approach to filming the clip”, says Danny McShane the clips director. “We didn’t have a crew, we just took a camera out and went around stealing locations. We didn’t plan much either, we just wanted to capture that feeling of isolation you get when your life is in transit and then show the process of transforming that loneliness into something more positive through music.” “It was a lot of fun to film, and it’s cool to have a little memory of my life at the time – in film form,” Meredith adds. Mixtape: Still in Rock x C-Heads

$

0

One day, a prominent critic said, “nobody wants to have emotion anymore.” That made me think, what if he was right? What if we were looking for easiness and control, everywhere, every time?

What if we were avoiding photographs that challenge us, the dance that isn’t performed by Ms. Guillem and the music that is not immediately catchy? These days, I can’t help but notice that Jazz is too often seen as a complex art form, for religious music scholars only. Fundamentally, jazz music is about feelings, a sincere expression of what the musician is going through. Jazz is about spontaneity, and that is why it is a great companion for pop and rock’n’roll, which are more direct and raw. I always thought that the confluence of the three create a great balance, which is why this mixtape has a little bit of all three.

So here we are, in December, the month of great expectations. We rush to the next year, somehow happy and sad at the same time. We urge ourselves to be ‘more’. I wanted these few minutes to give us the space to think, next to the fireplace. I hope that you’ll agree to come with me on this little trip before we hear the kids screaming around the Christmas tree… and the same old family stories…

I Fell Down – By Anna Parcerisas Casanovas

I fell down,
From the fallen broken clear brown leaves,
From the worn pavement,
From the sharpness knife,
From the isolated towering bed,
From the white crystal embraced with blood,
From an agonising dream.
I fell down,
From the emptiness,
Of an unconscious.
And left,
The pastel spring,
Behind.

“Music is my therapy, my happiness and my hiding place when everything is going wrong” A talk with Nina Kimiko

$

“It sounds corny but I truly do dream of peace. Just a place where we can all show love, support, encouragement, honesty, and just get along. I really want to promote that in my music and somehow influence a generation.”

tells Nina A Vann alias Nina Kimiko. What a beauty inside and outside! Born and raised in California the young singer and songwriter shares her love into music since the age of 11 when she wrote her first song. Later, at the age of 17 she joined a rap group called “Blocc Runnaz” where she graced the tracks with her soothing vocals. Taking hardcore hip hop sounds and throwing her melodic and angelic voice over them she began to create her own sound and she is ready for the world. In our interview she talks about her new year plans, being a dreamer and how small gestures can have a huge affect.

I can feel from your instagram site, the pic and quotes and even from your music a lot of romance shining through. Am I mistaken? What do you like to write your songs mostly about? Love? Personal experiences?

Absolutely, I am a big romantic. Like every girl I love romance and want that love like the movies lol. I do also write about heart break because in a sad way it’s easier for me to identify with lol. Sounds horrible I know but my music comes from a real personal place. And unfortunately heartbreak was very present in my life. Every song is from a situation I went through or dealt with. I like to write mostly about life, whether it be my situation or my friends situation.. things that are really happening in peoples everyday lives that they can relate to, use to get through a situation or just zone out to and figure shit out.

I also feel this vibe of a very positive and strong person. Is that how you would consider yourself, or do we sometimes get a complete wrong impression from people as through all the social networks people are trying to portray themselves in the best way only and not necessarily in the most honest way?

I mean there are people that do “front” and try to be this super positive outgoing caring person but their everyday life and actions do not reflect that. And we “the viewers” would never know because we aren’t there. I can say that my life and my personality are very positive. Even if it’s just saying hello to someone passing by and smiling, that to me is so huge! It can literally change someones whole attitude! It’s such a small gesture but has such a huge affect. I’ve been told because I said hi to someone that I made them realize they DO matter.. that could have been a suicidal situation and because I acknowledged them I pretty much saved a life.. thats crazy! So positivity goes a long way! As far as being strong, I’ve been through a lot which yes I feel makes me very strong person. In this life, you gotta be!

What does music and singing mean to you?

Music and singing mean the world to me! I’ts my therapy, my happiness, my hiding place when everything is going wrong. Its my vacation from all the bs we go through in life. I honestly don’t know where I would be mentally if it wasn’t for music. I cant imagine a world w/out it. Singing is my outlet when there is nobody there to vent to or listen to me. It’s such a freeing feeling to be able to get something out of your head and into this place where it now becomes therapeutic. Getting that emotion out onto a record is just such an amazing thing.

10747953_358277751013146_722301014_n

On your Instagram you say you are a dreamer. Your biggest dream in life?

Answer: Yes, I am one of the many dreamers in this world. It sounds corny but I truly do dream of peace. Just a place where we can all show love, support, encouragement, honesty, and just get along. I really want to promote that in my music and somehow influence a generation. Music speaks volumes to people and us as musicians who have the opportunity to promote something positive need to do that. so I dream of peace amongst others, my family and myself.

And your biggest fear?

Answer: My biggest fear is sitting in a rocking chair at the age of 65, looking back and not being happy w/ the life I lived. To me that is sooo scary because you cannot rewind time. You cant go back! A fear of not accomplishing my goals and living outside of the box. A fear of living life in fear. I want to explore all that i can in life.. this world is so big and so much to see. I want to give that to myself and my family.

The best thing on living in Los Angeles

Well I lived in Los Angeles for about 4-5 months and instantly fell in love. I am originally from San Diego, (still West-coast woot woot! LOL) born and raised but currently travel back and forth to LA. Mannn the mentality of the people in LA intrigue me so much. They are so driven and always have some idea or something going on. Not to say those type of people aren’t in San Diego but my experience in LA just stuck w/ me. It felt like home even though I did not grow up there, I fit right in w/ the people there and the spirit of the city.

The best life lesson so far…

Cherish people that you are blessed to have in your life. Learn that letting go of something doesn’t always mean a loss. And getting a chance to love even if its not what you planned it to be is still LOVE! Take those experiences and apply them to your life. Cherish everything big and small! And if you never try something you’ll never know you were a genius at it! Believe in yourself all the way… great things come of that!

New Year Plans?

To be performing at Coachelllla! lol mann just being in that crowd last year was amazing! I can only imagine what it’s like on stage. Also just to have the love of the people! To have everybody and their momma vibing to my music! To be a lot further than I am today obviously and just have an amazing year!! 2015 is looking mighty nice lol.

Riquelle by Carlijn Jacobs for C-Heads

BLAKE SEVEN – The texas dream

Make some noise for the stunning C-Heads Magazine debut by photographer Carlijn Jacobs. The young talent captured eye-catching beauty Riquelle Pals for us and created a series full of western spirits, dirty adventures and playful elegance. Styling done by Sheila Pinas, hair and make up by Celine Bernaerts and production by Irene Haast and Michelle Pang.

“While we were shooting Riquelle, naked on the mountains, there were about 6 pick up trucks stopping and filming us. We created a traffic jam. We couldn’t care less. We were laughing at all the cowboys and they were having the time of their lives. And so were we. We were road tripping through dead valleys and created lots of chaos in all the little villages where we were shooting. There was an old fella and he wanted to break my camera because we were shooting on his property. We started running away while the model was still naked. He grabbed his shotgun and threatened us. It was the most adventurous time of our lives.”

“An artist has to have a little bit of conflict with himself at some level, in order to find a way to be better every day. If you don’t aspire to do better, you won’t be successful with your art.”

Model at Francina Models, designer and DJ Claudia Albons doesn´t like to label herself and believes in hard work and versatility. Which are certainly one of those important ingredients when you want to achieve something. We had a chat with the focused Mallorcan born beauty, that confidently posed in front of the lense of photographer Jordi Pelegrí for C-Heads. The make-up was done by Sara Ferraro and Claudia wears clothes from Brandy Mellvile, Levi’s vintage, Calvin Klein, American Apparel, H&M, Rose Marin and Maje.

Claudia, you are involved in different areas of art such as fashion and music – what does art mean for you, what makes an artist?

In my opinion, art is to test out your creativity to create something beautiful, something that speaks about you in some way, and causes a sensation in the viewer. An artist has to have a little bit of conflict with himself at some level, in order to find a way to be better every day. If you don’t aspire to do better, you won’t be successful with your art. No matter what you do: painting, designing, singing… the good artist has to leave his mark to be unforgettable.

And how hard is it nowadays to really stand out with the things we do or to select what´s really good? I mean we are over flooded by talents and inspirational things from the internet…

Yeah, it’s really difficult. There are a lot of talented people out there, but I think the secret is that everyone has to be as authentic as they can be. Don’t copy, don’t hide your true personality… you know what they say: it’s better to be hated for who you are that to be loved for what you are not.

You are named as being one of the first bloggers in Spain. Are you still as passionate about it as when you started? I feel that it has gotten a lot quieter now around the blogging trend, what do you think?

A few years ago the blogger phenomenon was booming and became “the new it profession”. Managing a blog requires considerable time and dedication and I won’t deny that I love blogging, but I’m also very dedicated to other aspects of my life, as my facet as a DJ, my work as a model and designing my own jewelry line . I’ve always seen my blog as a great tool to show the world what I like, but lately there’s so many blogs in the Internet. We must find other ways to express ourselves in order to build our own personal brand. I love working on projects and new ideas that are not directly linked to my fashion blog. I don’t want to label myself! I believe in hard work and versatility.

You were born in Mallorca, how lucky to be brought up by the seaside. Tell us one of your fondest childhood memories…

My family and I used to go out on a small boat every weekend to spend the day in the best beaches of Mallorca. My father and I went diving in the caves to investigate and see the shells, the octopuses, the starfishes… Formentera also brings back many good memories. I’ve spent every summer there since I was 10 years old and it’s one of my favorite places in the world. I’m such an island girl!

You model as well and are starring in this rad series for C-Heads by the photographer Jordi Pelegri. You radiate to be a confident young woman. What´s the thing you like most about yourself and what things would you like to change? I am not just talking about physical things…

Thanks! I consider myself quite self confident and that’s fine when you work in the fashion industry, you gotta have your head over your shoulders, you know what I mean? I really like my determination and ambition towards life. I’m very independent but a little bit impatient… I can’t help it! I’ve always been!

The thing that made you most happy in 2014?

I’ve adopted my cat, Blondie, which appears in this editorial. She was living on the street and now she’s the queen of my castle! She makes me very happy, she’s the sweetest cat ever.
